You've rewatched your favorite movies, and suddenly your evening program has been replaced by a blind search on Netflix or another streaming service. After two years locked in your living room, you often find yourself running out of ideas for quality television entertainment. Whether you regularly binge watch series in ten-hour marathons or only turn on the streaming service once a month, you're bound to get lost in the sea of ​​its offerings from time to time. Here's our selection of Netflix shows to keep you entertained (and not only) during long nights at home.

Seinfeld

One of the most iconic series of the first half of the nineties has finally arrived on Netflix. Comedian Jerry Seinfeld plays himself in the series, which was supposed to be the fulfillment of his life goal; to make a sitcom about nothing. Suddenly you are looking at the New York life of Seinfeld, who, together with his three friends, goes for coffee, to the laundromat, or just sits at his house. They do nothing and everything at the same time. And you can't stop watching for eight seasons.

14 peaks: Nothing is impossible

The record for climbing all fourteen 8,000-meter peaks is seven years old. And Nepalese-British climber Nimsdai Purja will attempt it in less than seven months. The documentary follows his journey to this incredible attempt, full of inhibitions, obstacles and pain, which Nimsdai conquers with his infectiously positive outlook on the world. Most of the footage in the documentary was shot directly in the field and their combination with interviews with the top mountaineering world only underlines the heroic feat that will not allow you to even breathe for two hours.

Red notice

It's Friday night and all you want to do after a hard week is to relax on the couch and not think? The movie Red Notice could be the right choice. The star cast of what is reportedly the most expensive movie on Netflix (the budget reached a record 200 million US dollars) and an action-packed plot with several surprising twists make this movie a pleasant "vacation" that will definitely keep you entertained. An FBI agent (Dwayne Johnson) and two rival gangsters competing for the title of the best thief in the world (Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds) play a game full of fights, verbal skirmishes and references to other movies. The most noticeable reference is probably to the Indiana Jones series, but Titanic, Jurassic Park, Cleopatra, Cats and The Shawshank Redemption also appear.

The Irishman

Have you been putting off watching Scorsese's The Irishman because it's too long to watch in one evening? If you're stuck in quarantine, don't hesitate any longer, because this 209-minute gangster flick will keep you entertained every second. It stars Robert de Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci in roles that suit them best. The mafia thriller telling the true story of Irish hitman Frank Sheeran and his gradual integration into the American mafia elite is also probably the last opportunity to see this star trio together.

House of Cards

Who hasn't seen House of Cards yet, hurry up! Kevin Spacey in the role of a Machiavellian politician Frank Underwood, who gradually begins to control the entire country and will stop at nothing. Not only will you watch the intrigues of top politics with suspense, but you will also learn something about the functioning of the American political system. And what's more, when you next go to work, you will have a huge urge to put on a suit after a long time.

Don't look up

Okay, the tip that's screaming at you from the front page of Netflix probably isn't quite what we promised. But if you've been living in a cave for the past month and haven't seen Don't look up yet, fix that today. The third most streamed movie in the history of the platform is a slap in the face in the form of social commentary on the current times and society's "mixed" opinions on the global crisis. After discovering an asteroid that will destroy the globe in six months, astronomers Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence go on a tour to convince politicians and the public that it is necessary to avert the disaster.
