You've finally come up with the perfect gift, you've gone to the store, you've brought it home, and all that's left is to wrap it so that it doesn't look like a pile of misery under the tree. Especially for those of us who didn't like art classes at school, this is a task harder than building an entire house. Well, not everyone was born with glue and scissors in their hands to be able to create perfect origami without any help. It's no different with us at Alain Delon Journal. However, a true gentleman is skilled on all fronts. That's why this year we decided to find the easiest way to wrap gifts for you, so that the suffering of the male generation will end forever.
Guys, here's a step-by-step picture guide on how to do it without nerves.
1. What will you need?
This step is probably the easiest of all, but it's a good idea to have everything ready in advance. There's nothing worse than sticky fingers from duct tape while you're desperately searching for scissors in the drawers. So, to be clear and concise, you'll need:
• wrapping paper, • scissors, • adhesive tape, • decorations (whatever your heart desires), • gift.2. Measuring the amount of paper
To avoid cutting the excess paper crookedly, roll the gift over the paper, on each side. This will show you exactly how much paper you will need.
3. Cut a little more paper than you measured
This will prevent a super frustrating situation where you end up with a piece of the gift peeking out of the packaging.
4. Bend the cut part
Fold about 1 cm of the side where you just cut the paper. This will ensure a nice, even edge to the package.
5. Wrap the gift in paper
Wrap both sides of the paper around the gift as tightly as possible. To keep the wrapping from falling apart, you can tape the first side to the gift box.
6. Tape the two sides together
Remember, where you put the tape will be clearly visible, so use small pieces of tape and not three-centimeter strips that will ruin the overall impression.
7. Now comes the hardest part
Folding the sides of a gift is a step where most of us fail. So remember to work systematically and, most importantly, carefully. Slowly fold the sides into two triangles, creating sharp edges. Then fold the excess paper that remains in front of you so that you have a flat surface. When you are satisfied with the result, use pieces of adhesive tape to tape the sides to the main part of the box.
8. The icing on the cake
Every good gift needs a bow. This step is a matter of taste, but we like things simple, so a pre-made, store-bought bow was more than enough for us. It looks great and saves you a ton of time.
