Ako sa starať o oblečenie - obleky, košele a doplnky
In recent years, we have been hearing from all sides how people have become accustomed to replacing old or malfunctioning things with new ones instead of trying to repair them. In the past, when there was not such a large selection and affordability, people took much more care of their belongings, whether they were household appliances or clothes. Today, we do not regret throwing away a few euro blender and buying an equally poor-quality piece, which will break in two years (as if on purpose, about a week after the warranty expires). It is the same with clothes, if we damage a cheap piece, we do not regret buying a similar one, which will end up buried in the closet in a few months, because the color has faded, the shape has lost its shape, or the fabric simply “didn’t hold up”. However, isn’t it better (and more profitable) to invest in something of higher quality that will last you for years than to always buy new things every few months? Investing in quality clothes will definitely pay off. With proper care, they will last for many years and are much easier to repair than cheap pieces. Business clothes are a chapter in themselves. A suit is perhaps the most expensive piece in your wardrobe, but if you don't know how to care for it properly, you can irreparably damage it. Here are our tips on how your (not only) business clothes will serve you reliably for many years.

SUIT

The myth that we will dispel right from the start is that a suit cannot be washed at home, but should be taken to a dry cleaner. However, this is only half the truth. A suit cannot be washed at all, but you should take it to a dry cleaner once, at most twice a year. Dry cleaning weakens sensitive fibers, and unprofessional treatment can even result in the complete destruction of your suit. Therefore, choose your dry cleaner very carefully. So how do you take care of your suit so it always looks like new? - Get a special brush . Natural bristles provide the most gentle cleaning. More durable wool fabrics respond well to pig bristles, a goat hair brush is even gentler, we recommend it for suits made of cashmere or worsted yarn. - After each wear, you should lightly shake it out and air it out (preferably on a balcony or terrace or by an open window). If it is foggy and humid outside, leave it out in the air overnight, the fabric will breathe and the odors that were in the fabric will evaporate. - After ironing, fold the trousers according to the buttons and hang them on a hanger together with the jacket. Also pay attention to the width and strength of the hanger. The jacket will lose its shape on a smaller plastic hanger. - If your pants have lost their sharp creases, never iron them directly, place a damp cotton cloth over them, ideally a light-colored one, and iron the creases through it. If you iron the pants directly, they will start to shine unnaturally.

- Be sure to take off your jacket during a long car trip (it is harmful if it rubs against the seat belt) or during a long time sitting in the office (shiny spots could form on your elbows due to friction with the desk). - If your jacket gets wrinkled, steam it. There are now many steam irons that can do it in one go. If you want to help yourself, for example, when you're traveling and don't have an iron with you, use hot water to create a thick mist in the bathroom and hang your jacket (or the entire suit) in this humid environment. The wrinkles will straighten out and the fibers will absorb moisture, restoring their elasticity.
- Ideally, clean stains immediately. Always work from the outside inwards to prevent rings and streaks from forming after the fabric dries. - If you wear a suit to work, you should change it at least two or three times. It is important to let it “rest” as well. - If you only have a suit for festive occasions and it has been hanging in your closet unused for a long time, put it in a special (breathable) bag that will protect the fabric from dust, but allow it to "breathe".

SHIRT

Of course, you can wash shirts at home. However, there are three important criteria that you should pay attention to - color, recommended water temperature and spin speed. Before washing, sort the shirts by color. White shirts are often washed with a bleaching agent. Wash colored and black shirts with a detergent that will preserve the colors. Check the maximum washing temperature on the label, which each shirt should have. Very important, if not the most important, is the spin speed setting. Too high a speed can damage individual fibers. We recommend washing shirts at a maximum spin speed of 400. To give your shirts extra care, put them in the washing machine in a special laundry bag or pillowcase. Never dry shirts in the dryer . Hang them on a hanger and let them air dry. You should iron them while they are still damp, but if they are completely dry, moisten them with water from a spray bottle or use a steam iron. Store them hanging on a hanger, or if you don't have enough space in your closet, fold them carefully. You can also entrust the cleaning of shirts to a dry cleaner, but just like with suits, choose the dry cleaner carefully.

TIE

Silk is a luxurious material that is sought after for its durability, suppleness and adaptability. In our offer you will find silk ties , bow ties, handkerchiefs and scarves. However, you also need to know how to care for silk. You often tie your tie in different types of knots , which causes the silk to wrinkle, so you should carefully untie it after each wear. First loosen the knot, put the tie over your head and then untie it. Put the tie aside, the fabric should straighten itself, a steam iron can handle larger creases. However, do not iron the silk directly, place a cotton cloth on top of it. Store ties either hanging on a hanger with a smooth center section (so the fabric doesn't get caught) or rolled up and put in a drawer. The first step in caring for your suit, shirt or accessories should always be to look at the care label. These will point you in the right direction.
