In recent years, we have been hearing from all sides how people have become accustomed to replacing old or malfunctioning things with new ones instead of trying to repair them. In the past, when there was not such a large selection and affordability, people took much more care of their belongings, whether they were household appliances or clothes. Today, we do not regret throwing away a few euro blender and buying an equally poor-quality piece, which will break in two years (as if on purpose, about a week after the warranty expires). It is the same with clothes, if we damage a cheap piece, we do not regret buying a similar one, which will end up buried in the closet in a few months, because the color has faded, the shape has lost its shape, or the fabric simply “didn’t hold up”. However, isn’t it better (and more profitable) to invest in something of higher quality that will last you for years than to always buy new things every few months?
Investing in quality clothes will definitely pay off. With proper care, they will last for many years and are much easier to repair than cheap pieces. Business clothes are a chapter in themselves. A suit is perhaps the most expensive piece in your wardrobe, but if you don't know how to care for it properly, you can irreparably damage it. Here are our tips on how your (not only) business clothes will serve you reliably for many years.
- Ideally, clean stains immediately. Always work from the outside inwards to prevent rings and streaks from forming after the fabric dries.
- If you wear a suit to work, you should change it at least two or three times. It is important to let it “rest” as well.
- If you only have a suit for festive occasions and it has been hanging in your closet unused for a long time, put it in a special (breathable) bag that will protect the fabric from dust, but allow it to "breathe".
The first step in caring for your suit, shirt or accessories should always be to look at the care label. These will point you in the right direction.

SUIT
- Be sure to take off your jacket during a long car trip (it is harmful if it rubs against the seat belt) or during a long time sitting in the office (shiny spots could form on your elbows due to friction with the desk).
- If your jacket gets wrinkled, steam it. There are now many steam irons that can do it in one go. If you want to help yourself, for example, when you're traveling and don't have an iron with you, use hot water to create a thick mist in the bathroom and hang your jacket (or the entire suit) in this humid environment. The wrinkles will straighten out and the fibers will absorb moisture, restoring their elasticity.
