Maroš Ihnát: „Svoju prácu beriem ako poslanie!“

According to tradition, a true gentleman, apart from his own wife, can only be touched by his doctor, tailor and barber. And even though it seems that barbers in Slovakia have already been replaced by hairdressers, the opposite is true. Barber Maroš Ihnát, his partner Martin Saba and their team have brought a new wind to Bratislava.

At Alain Delon, we not only strive for well-fitting clothes, but also for a well-groomed appearance. That's why we regularly visit MMG Freedom Barbers & Shop on a busy Bratislava street - a unique men's space that is becoming a place for a growing group of men to get their hair and beard trimmed.
The community that meets here also comes here to relax, chat and have fun. It has the right atmosphere.

THE PROFESSIONALISM OF THE BARBER IS PRIORITY

RETURN OF CRAFTSMANSHIP

Maroš Ihnát chose barbering in elementary school. Even then, he realized that in Slovakia there were only mixed hairdressers providing services to both ladies and gentlemen. The fairer sex was the majority group, which, according to him, set the standard of men's haircuts lower. However, during his study trips around Europe, he saw with his own eyes that specialized men's barbershops are completely common in almost every country. Unlike Slovakia, where the latter disappeared in the late 1990s.
When we first started working in this space, a very nice older lady came in and said that there had been a barbershop here for 40 years. And they said that our chairs were arranged exactly the same way the older gentlemen in white coats had them years ago. This place breathes energy.

The return of craftsmanship

THE PROFESSIONALISM OF THE BARBER IS PRIORITY

A good barber is first and foremost an expert in the perfect cut, a true master of his craft. He uses several clippers to create a perfect transition and masters several cutting techniques with scissors. Another priority is to shave cleanly with a razor in a way that the client himself could never do at home. The third motto of a barber is to trim the beard. Shaping it, washing it, scenting it.
We use steamed towel techniques to shave, which softens the hair. We always mix the foam ourselves according to the client's wishes, some require thicker, others thinner. Then we move directly to a three-phase shave with a razor with interchangeable attachments, in the direction of growth, against the direction of growth and from left to right. We try to make it a real experience, with individual care. The client's requirements come first for us. He is here to enjoy it.
Maroš sees his work as a mission. He is happy when he sees the result of his work and is most satisfied when the client smiles. The barber shop is his life.

Friendly relations and relaxed atmosphere

FRIENDLY RELATIONS AND A RELAXED ATMOSPHERE

The typically masculine interior is where teenagers and the elite of political and artistic circles meet. Clean lines and a slightly industrial style blend with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere that will win everyone over.
The space is filled with a mix of voices, the sound of scissors cutting, pleasant music, blow dryers and laughter. The mood carries throughout the room and the gentlemen stepping out into the busy streets exude the energy, style and quality so characteristic of their lifestyle.
