If you take regular and proper care of something of real quality, it is natural that it will bring you joy for a longer time. Whether it is a favorite herb in the garden, a car, a household appliance or clothes. With improper care, you can hopelessly ruin your things, and that would be a shame. After the article on caring for suits, shirts and silk accessories, we bring you our tips on how to care for denim clothes (and other solid fabrics) so that they last as long as possible.

Washing

Jeans are made of a stronger and more durable material that doesn't need frequent washing. If you get a stain on them, try washing it locally. To get rid of any odor, try the freezing trick - put your jeans in the freezer (ideally overnight), take them out half an hour before wearing them, and they'll be as good as new.
When the time comes when jeans need soap and water: - turn them inside out, - only wash them with similar items of clothing, they tend to bleed color, - wash at low temperatures (max. 30-40 degrees Celsius), otherwise they may lose color and shrink, - do not use fabric softener, it will make the jeans stretch more easily, - if your washing machine has a program for washing more durable items of clothing, such as jeans or jackets, use it.

Drying

Dry jeans and other sturdy pants or jackets naturally, ideally hanging them upside down or horizontally. Never use a dryer, as this could shrink your jeans by a size.

Ironing

Most jeans also contain elastane for flexibility and comfort. Jeans loosen slightly when worn, and the fabric shrinks slightly when washed. You don't need to iron them, as they will adapt to your body thanks to their elasticity. However, if you want them to be a little more pliable and softer before wearing them, ironing them will help.

Storage

If you have a place in your closet to hang pants made of a sturdier material (we hope you have suit pants hanging in your closet), do so, the material will breathe. But feel free to fold them and store them on a shelf, they won't wrinkle. And if you do, they'll straighten out again after you wear them.
For any type of clothing, we recommend that you follow the instructions on the clothing label. The manufacturer knows best what care is most appropriate. If you want to learn a little more about the history of jeans, read these interesting facts .
