Style Guide – Ako nosiť výrazné košele
For several seasons now, we've been eagerly welcoming the arrival of bold printed shirts with the arrival of spring. Over the years, they've gradually become the go-to choice during hot weather. And while some still see these shirts as a throwback to the 1970s, know that thanks to modern cuts and luxurious materials, they're miles away from the old polyester "dederónka" our fathers wore. However, if you're still hesitating whether a statement shirt is right for you, we'll show you a few tips that will convince you how easy it is to include a few in your arsenal and fit in perfectly anywhere, whether you're on the beach with a Piña Colada in hand or in the urban jungle.

Printed shirt + solid colored pants = success

If you're not prepared to have every neck you encounter craning behind you, it's best to keep the rest of your outfit simple. Balance out bold patterns and colors with simple, preferably solid-colored pieces. Blue jeans, beige chinos, or simple cotton jackets work best.

Relax

A printed shirt is a great way to loosen up your look without looking sloppy. That's why it's great to keep it casual with the sleeves rolled up. However, if you decide to go a little more elegant, there's nothing wrong with tucking it into your pants.

However, not always and everywhere

A bold shirt looks great with a casual suit, but it should still be in your closet for more formal events, so if you have to go out with a tie or bow tie, let it rest. The same situation occurs even if you don't live in Hawaii, but in Slovakia, where printed shirts are not considered the most suitable choice for corporate walls. Don't worry, casual Friday and the weekend will come sooner than you think, and then you will proudly show off your new shirt to the whole world.

Who is supposed to know about those motives...

So if you've decided to give a printed shirt a try, the question is what pattern to choose. You can find them in every color and pattern imaginable, but if you'd like to start out a little more conservative, subtle, small patterns on a white background are perfect. They're a nice change without making you feel like the center of attention.

If you'd like something a little bolder, bolder yet still traditional patterns, such as geometric shapes, are a good choice. If you find ones that are in softer shades of blue, they'll work better without being too distracting.

But luck is on the brave. So if the words shirt, pattern and animal motif don't immediately conjure up the image of the protagonist in a colorful cauldron, don't be afraid to try out crazier patterns. The only limit here is your imagination, so whether you come across yellow butterflies or orange flowers, go for it. But don't forget our advice above, because the line between super style and parrot can sometimes be too thin. Happy wearing!
