Style Guide - Čo si obliecť, ak ste pozvaný na svadbu
Summer weekends are all about weddings, and the chances of you getting invited to one this year are high. And even if you're not the one getting married, that doesn't mean you shouldn't pay at least a little attention to this special event. As a wedding guest, it's your duty not only to have a good time, but also to properly beautify the photos that the couple will be looking at forty years later. However, since weddings can cause a lot of headaches when it comes to deciding what is appropriate and what is not, we have compiled a few tips for you that will ensure you don't get lost at any wedding ceremony.

A good old classic

Weddings can be held almost anywhere these days. Whether you're going to church, a cultural center, or the beach and you don't have the patience or time to come up with special outfits for every occasion, there's one that never disappoints. The good old navy suit and white shirt is a combination that we probably all have in our closet and will not look "out of place" in any environment. However, to avoid the look of a banker who skipped lunch, play around with accessories a little. A cheerful (but please not funny) tie (or bow tie) will brighten up the whole outfit and give it the right festive mood. However, remember that you can't be better dressed than the groom himself, so it's better to leave accessories like cufflinks at home this time.

Sweltering hot summer

A room full of family members you've never met before, a glass of alcohol that mysteriously keeps filling up, and the stress of the dance floor give the whole event enough opportunities to warm up even without the summer thirties raging outside. However, those who are prepared will not be surprised by anything like this, because they have chosen the right summer materials. Although it may not seem like it at first glance, if the wedding is not held in a particularly formal setting and in the evening, it is not at all a problem to dress in linen. Blue or beige jacket colors are reliable choices that you can (but do not have to) brighten up again with a cheerful bow tie or tie. Complete with woolen suit pants (wool has excellent thermoregulatory properties, similar to linen). Please leave the shirt white, after all, it is a wedding.

The invitation says dress code: Casual

Okay, let's get one thing straight first. Regardless of what the invitation says, there's no such thing as a casual wedding. The dress code may be unspecified, the venue unconventional, and the guests free-spirited, but you still have to try to look your best. After all, it's one of the most important events in your life, and you, as a guest, are part of the "bushes."
However, such invitations are the hardest to crack because you don't want to show up in a black suit when the groom isn't dressed formally either... The chances are high that such a wedding will start with lunch, so brown shades are the golden mean. Our choice would be a light cotton jacket complemented by trousers made of the same material. This creates a kind of cotton suit that is stylish but not too formal. Add a white linen shirt, even without a tie - you will comply with the informal obligation from the invitation, while still looking great. If you want to add some color to your outfit, choose a contrasting handkerchief.

What if I'm not just a guest?

If you have been given a "role" during the wedding and are a witness, or perhaps a father of the bride, your options are significantly narrowed. You are suddenly not just an ordinary number at the table, but an integral part of the ceremony, which must be dressed appropriately for your role. Therefore, you are offered only one option, a black suit. Since officially, according to etiquette, a tuxedo does not belong at a wedding, this is the most formal clothing you can wear. Complete the outfit with a white cufflink shirt and a tie. Leave the bow tie to the groom and other guests.
Have a nice wedding! We would like to thank ELESKO Wine Park Modra for providing the space for the photo shoot.
