Love your weekend sports jacket that won’t blow away? Great, throw it on! But avoid the hockey dad look and leave the plaid shirt at home this time. Start building a sports outfit with a story around the jacket. While it’s more than fine to start with classic jeans on the bottom, choose a bold shirt on top that will be the focal point and add juice to the entire outfit. While the jacket, pants and shirt are in the same color combination, a contrasting sweater will break up the tangle of one color and perfectly complement the outfit. If you’re feeling bold, accessorize with a knitted, autumn tie.

How to wear a suit and still stay warm? A question that many wise men are trying to solve… Why not choose a V-neck sweater for your commute to work instead of a tank top that will keep you sweating all day? You can easily get rid of it in an overheated office and it will also add a bit of color and humor to any outfit. And when it gets so cold that a balaclava is no longer enough, get a thick knitted jacket that will not only trap heat, but also make you a true Italian.

Smart casual is a constant struggle to find balance. What is too casual and what is too smart? Add sweaters and coats to the equation and a stew of confusion is born. If you want to walk the golden middle path, balance on the edge. Start with a classic, solid-colored shirt, followed by a more traditional V-neck sweater. Add casual chinos and pair the whole outfit with a more classic jacket. Fit is everything, so exceptionally, reach for a looser version that can fit under the sweater so that you don’t remind passersby of the Michelin Man. And finally, strike back with the hit of the season, a sportier unlined knitted coat, which you can complement with a nice scarf.
