Svetové saká vznikajú na Slovensku
The origin of a product can say a lot about its quality. When you're looking for a quality watch, you look for a Swiss one. If you want a car with a reputation for precision, you buy a German one. But think for a moment about what Slovakia is known for. Surely few of you would immediately say that it is clothing, despite the fact that clothing production has a long history in our region, which only the most knowledgeable know about.

The fact that not only domestic, but also world-class brands use the expertise of Slovak tailors proves that Slovakia is synonymous with the highest quality clothing.

We continue our mini-series about the origin of our products in eastern Slovakia, in Michalovce. Although the clothing industry seems to be concentrated in the western part of the country, at the very other end of the country you can find a factory that has been in operation since 1937. We have been producing our suits , jackets and trousers here for more than twenty years. Despite the fact that the company is one of the larger ones in terms of size, the owners, with their personal approach, make us feel like we are in a small factory. They emphasize the highest quality of their production and constantly invest their energy not only in technology, but also in employees. It only takes a few minutes to walk through the corridors to realize that people have truly enjoyed working here for many years.

As with any other product, the whole story begins even before the factory gates. We carefully select the materials many months in advance from suppliers who guarantee that the jacket, suit or trousers will not only look good, but above all be comfortable to wear. The primary raw materials come to us from different parts of Europe, because German cotton or Italian wool are among the best in the world. If we were to produce from other materials, it simply wouldn't be the same.

The story of one jacket

The moment the material arrives at the production facility, work begins on it. Despite the fact that the product does not stand still for a minute from the very beginning, it will take up to 150 hours to complete.

The first step, however, is to cut the material into small pieces, which you will find in our store as a whole in a few weeks. The combination of computer-controlled knives and the precise hand of the cutter divides the fabric into puzzles, which then travel further through the factory through almost a hundred stations . The individual parts are placed on two different lines, during which they pass through the hands of about forty-two workers . While some work on sewing the sleeve, others focus on the front and back parts of the jacket and their connection to the lining.
Automation cannot achieve a perfectly tailored jacket or trousers, which is why handwork is still the alpha and omega of every single operation. Continuous ironing and quality control guarantee that even the smallest detail is perfected.

At the end of the workshop, as if by magic, the sleeves and jacket meet with split-second precision, so that the sets of parts become a finished jacket for the first time. However, this is still far from a finished piece; it must undergo another quality control check that looks for even the smallest flaws in the sewing. Only after these have been approved can the final ironing take place. Experienced craftsmen must be extremely careful about the material they are working with, because even a difference of a few degrees Celsius can cause problems during ironing. Nine ironing operations, sleeves, fit or collar, ensure that everything on the jacket fits beautifully.
Once the inspector approves that the jacket is ironed to the highest standards, the final step is to sew on the buttons. It is the symbolic golden nail in a lengthy process that gives the jacket or trousers the final touch.

Just as Swiss watchmakers have been honing their perfect production techniques for decades, Slovak tailors have also managed to come up with production methods that are simply not found anywhere else in the world. That is why we can rightly be proud of clothing from Slovakia. Because it is ours, but sewn to world-class quality.
