It's no longer true that the seasons alternate. You can easily experience sun, wind, rain or even snow in one day. And then you stand helplessly in front of your closet and wonder what to wear. You freeze on the way to work, only to sweat in a thick jacket during lunch. But it doesn't have to be that way. All you need to do is immerse yourself in the art of layering. You will need a little imagination and courage, maybe throwing on seemingly disparate things that you would not have thought of combining before.

It's really not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. We've prepared a simple and concise guide on how to tackle unpredictable weather correctly and in style. Believe me, thanks to it you will never be cold or hot again.

Start with colors - TWO

The alpha and omega when combining multiple types of clothing is color. If you limit yourself to just one, you will look like everything in your washing machine has been washed in one shade. Too many colors can come across as a bit circus-like. It is best to choose just two colors and stick with them. Combine multiple shades or their intensity, but do not add a third to the mix. The safest pairs are traditionally navy and brown, black and gray, but today's Scandinavian minimalism fashion also gives room to pastel combinations such as beige and brown.

Be flexible

The key to the success of the whole experiment is to be able to take things off and on exactly as the weather changes. That's why it's important to combine layers that are easy to take off. Think of a scarf or a jacket, or something completely casual like a flannel shirt with a turtleneck. The idea is to be able to conveniently put things away in a bag or backpack as soon as the sun's rays peek out. Plus, oversized fashion gives you the opportunity to hide more things under your coat than before, which makes it ideal for this occasion.

Wear something unexpected.

The great thing about dressing today is that all the rules have been broken. There are no limits to creativity, on the contrary, the use of elements that you would not have thought of wearing together a few years ago is encouraged. However, you don't have to aim for the level of excess of rock celebrities who put a tie around their neck instead of a scarf to be creative. Just add an unexpected element to a classic outfit, such as a sports sweatshirt under a fleece coat. The combination of these two elements will not only distinguish you from the crowd, but will also keep you perfectly warm. When it suddenly clears up, you simply unbutton the sweatshirt and voila. Creative, unexpected and stylish.

Feel comfortable

The main goal of all layering is to make you feel comfortable during the day. And winter clothes are ideal for this. Many very comfortable and seemingly casual items also look very elegant. Imagine black jeans instead of suit trousers or a turtleneck instead of a shirt. Moreover, an unlined jacket, which in combination with a shirt looks seemingly summery, suddenly gains a new dimension with a turtleneck in the form of a thin layer that not only insulates, but also gives the whole outfit another level of elegance.
