Summer is coming. We, like many of the gentlemen on the street, much prefer to reach for shorts than a suit. However, for today's stylish guy, it can seem a bit clumsy. However, you also need to know how to show off your calves outside of vacation, during a normal walk.
To make shorts a part of the modern wardrobe and not just something we wear more or less out of necessity, we're here to help again with our Style Guide. Gentlemen, here are four quick tips on how to make the most of summer.
A shirt with shorts – why not?
Nowhere is it written that shorts have to be just a casual outfit. A nice, elegant shirt goes well with them. However, you have to follow a few rules. Choose bolder patterns and colors. And if you have light linen shirts in your wardrobe, now is the best opportunity to air them out. Whether you roll up your sleeves or keep them buttoned up is up to you.
A short-sleeved shirt doesn't just belong in the wardrobe of grandfathers
If the image of a short-sleeved shirt conjures up images of a vacationer wearing socks and sandals, know that this doesn't have to be the case at all. Short sleeves can also look stylish on a shirt.
Combined with shorts, it is also one of the few options that will work. The key is a good "fit" of the shirt. The torso and especially the sleeves must be narrow. Only then will you achieve the modern "look" you are looking for.
T-shirt, T-shirt and another T-shirt
What can we say, a T-shirt goes best with shorts. However, if you would like to stand out from the crowd, polo shirts are a good alternative. Don't be afraid of bolder patterns and colors, but choose solid-colored pants.
That jacket again?
So here we go again, the most controversial topic in the entire fashion industry – the jacket with shorts. While some can't stand it, we say to those brave Mohicans, go ahead!
It's something different, new, interesting. We have just one piece of advice for you. With soft earthy colors, you have a much better chance of success than with bold patterns and flashy colors.
Enjoy the summer, gentlemen!
