Člen čestnej stráže prezidentky si zahral v seriáli, úspešný je aj v modelingu
Adam Bardy came to the public's attention thanks to the Mister Manhunt competition back in 2014. Now, thanks to Adam's character in the series Pán profesor na Markíze, he is attracting interest again. You may also recognize his face from our men's fashion campaigns, but his main workwear remains a uniform. Adam is a member of the Honorary Guard of the President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová and is as active in his private life as he is at work. In 2014, you became Mister Manhunt Slovakia 2014, the winner of the competition for the most beautiful Slovak man, which actually opened the doors to the world of modeling for you. What was it like then? Were you interested in modeling even before the competition? The competition I won at the time was more related to a healthy and active lifestyle, but of course, one of the criteria was the appearance of the contestants. You could say that winning the competition opened the door to the world of modeling for me, but as they say, nothing happens overnight, everything takes time, and modeling is no exception, experience is important here too. Before the competition, I had appeared in a few commercials, but I wouldn't call it modeling. You were already a student at the Armed Forces Academy at that time, did you always want to be a soldier? The crucial moment when I decided to work as a professional soldier came when I was choosing a university. I knew that I wanted to continue my studies, I played a lot of sports and the idea of spending my days in an office did not appeal to me. I learned about the possibility of studying at the Armed Forces Academy, about the sports opportunities that its campus provides, information about the quality of education and I didn't need more. Of course, I was interested in the military profession since I was a child, although I originally wanted to study medicine. However, when I found out what chemistry was in high school, I quickly got over it. :)

You have been the commander of the Honor Guard of the President of the Slovak Republic for a few years now. How do you feel in uniform? What do you like about your job? I've been in the honor guard for five years now and I've gotten used to the uniform very quickly. It's important to me that there's always something new and interesting in the job, and that's what I enjoy about it. What does serving in the honor guard involve? As a platoon commander and a member of the President's Honor Guard, I fulfill all the duties that come with serving in the armed forces. I participate in tactical, shooting, and various other training. One of the main differences that sets us apart from other units is that we provide state protocol events with the President.

Let's get back to modeling. Do you consider it your second profession? I see modeling more as a hobby. I like to travel, meet new people, and modeling allows me to do that. Of course, as in other fields, I have certain goals and boundaries in modeling that I'm always trying to push.
What interesting products have you had the opportunity to showcase while modeling? What kind of clients do you like to represent? In the few years I've been modeling, I've had the opportunity to photograph and showcase various clothes and products, from sports and leisure to elegant to various luxury pieces. Personally, I think it's also about the people you work with, not just about the product itself. When you have a good team of people around you, the end result, but also the feelings from the photo shoot are great - that's why I like to photograph with Alain Delon. :)

Even though you're more of a sporty type yourself, you mainly show smart casual clothes for the Alain Delon brand. How do you feel in such outfits? I feel great in them, maybe it will be the uniform I wear at work. It's true that I like to wear sportswear because I feel comfortable in it. On the other hand, I also like elegant clothes, but I have to feel comfortable in them too. Alain Delon meets all these conditions, so I always feel really good. You are currently known for your role as Adam in the TV series Mr. Professor. How did you get the opportunity to act? Since I model for Exit Model Management, the creators of the series approached me through them. I was a little hesitant when I first got approached, but then I let it go through my head and went to the casting. It worked out and I got the role of Adam in the series Mr. Professor.

How did you enjoy filming? Was it an interesting experience for you? I really enjoyed filming. There weren't many filming days, since it was an episodic character, but even during them I managed to get a glimpse into the world of series and find out how it works there. I worked with professionals like Tomáš Maštalír, Gabika Marcinková and others, so I had someone to learn from. Moreover, I had a team of great people around me on this project. It was a really pleasant experience, even though I was a complete novice in this field. Can we look forward to seeing you in any other television projects? We'll see, as I mentioned, it was an interesting and enjoyable experience for me, so I wouldn't mind the opportunity to improve in this field in my next role. Let's be surprised. :) You obviously take good care of your figure. What kind of sports do you do? Do you also pay attention to your diet? I have been involved in various martial arts since I was a child, the last three years it has been Brazilian jiu-jitsu. But I like movement in general, so I try to regularly include swimming, exercise, running and many others in my training plan. Of course, I also pay attention to my diet, but I think it is a natural part of an active lifestyle. In order for my body to be able to meet all these challenges, it needs a quality diet, so it cannot be done without it.

When you talk about quality food, what cuisine do you like the most when you don't have to limit yourself? I like everything and I like to cook at home because I know what's in it. The quality of the ingredients is the key for me and if we're talking about a specific type of cuisine, it's definitely Mediterranean cuisine. I love salads, fresh seafood, fish, olive oil and I can't miss my grandfather's good red wine. :)
What does your typical day look like? How do you like to spend your free time? I don't get bored very much, if I have some free time, I usually fill it with something productive. I like to learn new things, I try to improve physically through sports, but also mentally, for example by learning languages. I have a girlfriend who also likes exercise, so we spend a lot of time outdoors, for example in the mountains with our dog. I don't get bored.

What are your future plans and dreams? Is there any profession you would like to try out? All my dreams and goals are high enough that I still have to try really hard to make them come true. I take everything new as a challenge and I enjoy moving forward. These challenges often come my way without me having to look for them and all I have to do is not be afraid and face them. So far, I have only had good experiences with this approach, so I will probably continue to do so. :) Photo: Tomáš Novák, Lukáš Kimlička, Markíza, AB archive
