Choosing a gift for a woman can make even an experienced man frown. But flowers – with them, a gentleman always scores. Florists are uncharted territory for most of us, so we talked to expert Róbert Bartolen and prepared a simple manual for you on how to put a smile on the face of every woman you give flowers to. Whether it's your wife, mother or colleague.
1. A true gentleman never forgets to buy flowers for International Women's Day, name day, birthday, Valentine's Day, and wedding or dating anniversaries. Inviting her to dinner with a bouquet once every six months won't hurt either. Giving flowers or gifts too often can become commonplace, but we gentlemen should never be lazy. It's important to find a comfortable boundary for both sexes. 2. Forget the classics, try unconventional combinations! Do you also prefer the tried and tested classics – red roses or tulips? Try something new! Mix several types of flowers, such bouquets are more natural and relaxed. Moreover, you will definitely pleasantly surprise the lady. 3. Choose the type of flowers according to the lady's preferences, but also according to her characteristics. If you don't know a lady's favorite flower, try to look at her as a unique personality and choose the one that best describes her. Here's a little tip:• caring - gerbera • noble - orchid • rational - anthurium • rebellious - calla • delicate – tulip • royal – lily • perennial - freesia
4. The color of the flowers you choose will also tell you about your relationship with your woman. If you want to go for elegance, choose neutral white or yellow. Red is a passionate color and shows a woman that a man cares about her. Blue is suitable for business and neutral relationships. Pink is the color of young women. A gentleman can express both coquetry and detachment with colors. Sometimes flowers say more than words. 5. Don't spoil the impression by giving the wrong flower gift! Here are our tips:• A bouquet is never delivered wrapped in paper! • The flower stalks must be dry so they don't stain the lady's dress. • The bouquet is handed over tightly clasped in the palm of the hand, with the flowers facing upwards, never downwards. • We do not press flowers against a woman's chest or very close to her dress, so as not to get them dirty or torn. • The bouquet should not cover the woman, it should highlight her beauty, not suppress it. Therefore, it is good to have a round bouquet made, which will suit every woman.
"If you are not sure about your choice even after this practical advice, when entering the florist's shop, tell the professional the approximate price you want to invest and the occasion for which the bouquet is intended. Leave the rest to him."Róbert Bartolen's floristic beginnings date back to his school days, when as a primary school student he participated in several flower arranging competitions. Today, the graduate of the Secondary Vocational School of Horticulture and the Slovak University of Agriculture, majoring in garden and landscape architecture, is recognized by many Slovak and foreign magazines, which regularly publish his work.
