Letné drinky, vďaka ktorým zabodujete na každej grilovačke
For many of us, summer is associated with once-spectacular cocktails decorated with fruit, herbs, or retro palm leaves. This year, try to taste drinks with all your senses, perceive not only the taste, but also the aroma, prepare original servings, and make a real experience out of hanging out with friends. Together with the bartenders of the Mirror Bar in Carlton, we have a guide for you on how to wow your guests at a summer barbecue.

Lux

Light, which is essential for the birth of life. Light has been driving humanity forward since the very beginning of existence. Experience and positive feelings are the reasons why Mirror Bar chose light as a new effect for serving cocktails. The designer of the service on which the Lux cocktail is served is the young Slovak artist František Tóth. The service is complemented by the Japanese method of growing bonsai – kokedama, which is introduced by one of the pillars of the bar – Nature. The cocktail is based on one of the best gins in the world, Tanqueray No.10, which is combined with citrus oil syrup, passion fruit flavor, signature Mirror bitters, and is topped with bubbles.

Recipe: - 40 ml Tanqueray no.10 - 20 ml passion fruit syrup - 15 ml fresh lemon juice - 2 splashes of Mirror Bitters - Prosecco Place all ingredients together in a mixing glass and stir with ice. Then top up with Prosecco.

Cloud Atlas

Since every drop of Zacapa rum is matured at an altitude of 2,333 meters in the Guatemalan jungle, in a house called "The House above the clouds", the serving of the Cloud Atlas cocktail at the Mirror Bar was conceived in a grand manner. Shrouded in clouds in the scent of the authentic Guatemalan jungle just after the rain. The combination of Zacapa rum, red wine, coffee, cocoa - ingredients typical of Central America, is supposed to transport you to "The House Above The Clouds" with swirling smoke and the aroma of the forest.

Recipe: - 40 ml Zacapa Centenario 23 yo - 10 ml coffee liqueur - 5 ml cocoa liqueur - 25 ml of local red wine - 10 ml pomegranate juice - 10 ml of honey - 2 ml balsamic vinegar Place all ingredients together in a mixing glass and stir with ice.

Zen

Koktail Zen is a small Zen garden in the heart of Bratislava. Zen teachings are about the journey to a state of mind where you experience every moment to the fullest. In the experiential Mirror Bar, the Zen garden is built on enjoying the moment – both serving and enjoying a drink. At the bar, it is served with a maple bonsai in a black ceramic bowl from local artisans sili.ceramics, but you can also make it at home, although its preparation is a bit more complicated. Its uniqueness lies in its protein (or milk) clarification. After mixing citrus juice (or other acidic juice) with something milky (it can also be plant-based milk), the mixture precipitates. The bar then filters it several times until the drink remains completely clear. The taste of Zen is heavier and more pronounced thanks to the Japanese Nikka vodka, salted caramel, pineapple and almonds, but thanks to clarification, the drink is softened, enveloping and has a creamy texture.

Recipe: - 30 ml Nikka vodka - 20 ml fresh pineapple juice - 30 ml coconut water - 10 ml almond liqueur - 10 ml sugar syrup - 20 ml fresh lemon juice - 3 splashes of nutty bitters - 30 g salted caramel - 50 ml coconut milk
Mix all ingredients except milk in a bowl until the salted caramel is completely dissolved. Then add milk, stir gently and leave for about 30 minutes without moving until the milk and citrus curdle. Then strain the drink through a cloth, mix with ice and serve.

Stanislav Harcinik

Stanislav Harciník is a relatively new addition to Mirror Bar, having joined the team as head bartender in March. He began his career in gastronomy as a barback at El Gaucho Steak house, where he discovered that he enjoyed meeting new people, combining flavors and constantly searching for inspiration. He gradually worked his way up through other positions and bars. The most significant bar milestone for Stan was his time at Spin Cocktail Bar, where he worked his way up from bartender to bar manager in two years. He also worked at The Velvet bar and as head bartender was instrumental in the birth of the Sexi Dog project.
Since he started at Mirror Bar during the coronavirus quarantine, he had enough space to develop his creativity and grow. He and the Mirror Bar team are currently working intensively on a new "signature" menu, which will provide 5* service to guests who are looking for an experience. The ambition is also to highlight the name of the Slovak bar scene in the world. The soul of Mirror Bar is its menu, each cocktail served has a perfectly tuned composition and literally provokes the imagination of visitors. Cocktails are served in a unique form on original designer trays and in botanical arrangements. The current menu of Mirror Bar in Carlton is built on three pillars - Classy cocktails (all day), a collection of Art cocktails (evening) and a series of Nature cocktails (evening). Believe us, they are literally alchemy. If you prefer warmer drinks, prepare special combinations from Peter Marcina from the Mirror bar .
