Akú košeľu si obliecť na svadbu

When planning a wedding, newlyweds face an endless number of decisions. But few are as important as what they're going to wear. While the bride's dress takes center stage long before the wedding, the groom's is often somewhat forgotten. Yes, the more responsible ones have their suit laid out in their closet months in advance, but let's face it, most of us leave it until the last minute.

Although the internet is full of advice on what suit to choose for this special day, once you enter the store, you will be faced with thousands of options that will give even the most persistent a headache. You can find our advice on what suit to choose for a wedding here .

Once you've got the most important thing clear and are enjoying your success, know that there's another equally important task waiting for you: choosing the right shirt . Something that's often thought of as the very last thing in the rush, however, is much more important than it might seem at first glance.

Cotton shirt

First of all, be sure to choose a shirt made of 100% cotton . A wedding is a day when you should feel really good, and look just as good. You definitely don't want to deal with sweating and your skin not being able to breathe. Cotton is breathable and pleasant to the body. It irons well, is resistant and durable. Bet on quality and don't skimp on the shirt, you can really feel the difference. You can also read more about materials in this article.

Classic white

Before we get started with the training, it's a good idea to define what we mean by a classic shirt . It's plain, white, without a pattern, and most importantly, it has a traditional button-down closure... Simply the kind you would normally wear to the office.

And although they say you can never go wrong with classics, that's not entirely true at a wedding. After all, it's one of the most solemn events in your life, so you have to be careful with a classic white shirt. You can choose it if you're going for a less formal wedding and wear a pale blue suit, for example. Or, you can add a vest to it. It will make you look slimmer and the white shirt won't look so boring.

A little elegance

The safest choice for a wedding ceremony, not only for the groom, is a traditional white shirt with cufflinks. It gives the whole outfit a festive touch that such an event deserves. Wear it with any suit - navy, light blue, or even a tuxedo, you can't go wrong. Even if you want to take the festive look to the next level, choose a shirt with a hidden button closure.

However, there is one big exclamation point. Wear a shirt with cufflinks to a wedding only with a bow tie, the combination with a tie is too businesslike.

Festive champagne

If your bride chooses a dress in a different shade of white, for example in cream, take the shades into account when choosing a shirt. If you were to wear a snow-white shirt, her dress might look a little grayish or yellowish. For these cases, there is a selection of shirts in champagne colors, or in Slovak, cream. It is an elegant choice, which when complemented by a subtle shiny pattern, looks truly luxurious.

And if you're looking for something different, interesting and luxurious, look for a white shirt that has a white pattern in it. But it has to be subtle, one that highlights its elegance. Definitely avoid anything too bold.

After midnight

Many people forget one key thing when planning a wedding. Throughout the day, when each guest wants to cut a piece of you, you suddenly find yourself feeling like you've spent two days at work non-stop. Few things refresh you like changing into a clean, freshly ironed shirt, so having a spare one in reserve is a lifesaver. And when you're changing after midnight, why not liven up your outfit a bit? If you're not wearing a tuxedo, but a black or blue suit , the best alternative is a soft pink shirt, which will make you look still formal, but still a little relaxed.
