Once again, the magical time of Christmas has arrived. Running around, stress and looking for last-minute gifts. But don't despair this year. We at the Alain Delon Journal have done the homework for you. We have developed strategies and combined gift ideas for men who are a horror of shopping.
A soft sweater in classic blue or gray and a nice traditional reversible belt are things you can't go wrong with. If he still carries around that antique piece of used cowhide he calls a wallet, try replacing it with a new one with some affection. And if you're feeling adventurous, feel free to buy him a perfume. Forget the citrus bombs, though, and go for something subtle.
Silk or cotton bow ties are great, just make sure you buy a tie-on one. No one who wears a bow tie every day wants an elastic one. If he's been obedient all year, treat him to a beautiful silk scarf for the long winter days. Ours are handmade in Florence, Italy in very limited numbers, so it's unlikely he'll run into someone with the same one at his favorite hipster cafe.
Try a silk tie, handmade in Italy, or a nice pair of cufflinks from the Spanish mountains. Want to spend a little more? A shirt made of the finest Italian Albini cotton, or a handmade leather bag with your own initials could be your weapons. See the pattern? If the gift has an extraordinary story, you can't go wrong.
In this case, you'll be in black (or rather red) with a red V-neck sweater or a blue pocket square. Both are practical, and after all, who wouldn't be happy with something they'll actually use? Stick to colors that everyone likes and you're guaranteed to put a smile on their face.
