A beautifully converted five-hundred-year-old mill in Modra hides one of the most unique culinary experiences in Slovakia. After first crossing the threshold, it's clear why we fell in love with Mlyn 108. A smiling owner with a warm greeting, an open kitchen to his left, and an orchestra of politely attentive staff.
Mlyn 108 offers a momentary experience. The menu changes according to the season, the chef's current mood, and the availability of ingredients grown on local farms. It is not unusual for the owner to go into the forest himself to collect wild garlic. Each dish is thus the result of culinary genius, but also a celebration of nature. The words of the owner, Otto Chrapčiak, testify to the depth he attributes to his craft:
