Our mission is to bring unconventional elegance to the world of fashion, which is appreciated especially by exceptional men. Alain Delon's vision is to create uniqueness and individuality, which are hidden in every detail. We believe in creativity and new approaches to fashion, and it is with this attitude that we approached our competition called Reinvent the Creative Black Tie.
The assignment was to create a design for a highly social tuxedo that would be unconventional and brought to life in the spirit of Creative Black Tie. In terms of originality, imagination, and subsequent marketability of the submitted design, Kateřina Bukovská came out on top in our evaluation, becoming the winner of the competition.
During the day-long workshop, we had the opportunity to collaborate with Kateřina and transform the tuxedo design into its final form. We decided to use premium 100% Fines wool, which, together with the Slim Fit cut, gives it a touch of exclusivity. How does the designer see our joint creation?
Our competition was attended by many young designers and textile design students, who brought fresh perspectives to our work with their ideas. It brought a lot of inspiration not only to us, but also to Kateřina, who evaluated our collaboration as follows:
How it all came about
The idea for the competition arose during a discussion about the complexity of establishing oneself as a young designer. The fashion industry is currently dominated by globalization and the gradual displacement of local brands. The competition is huge and it often discourages aspiring designers. That is why we decided to give them a chance for cooperation, which can be interesting not only in the CV.Author of the winning proposal
Kateřina considers herself a perfectionist. She spends several months implementing her ideas until she is completely satisfied with the result. Jewelry made of precious stones, elegant men's wallets and women's evening gowns. These are just some of the areas that this young designer focuses on. However, the fashion industry remains her priority.Creativity and desire to create
She has been creative and has a taste for creating since childhood. She developed these qualities during her high school studies in the field of handmade textile processing. She left a similarly focused university because of the desire to realize her own visions. One of them is the Preston Imperial project, in which she presents a new perspective on women's luxury suitcases to the world. From idea to implementation
"I wanted something different than what the market offers. Many men's suits put me off with their cuts that lack lines and do not show the personality of their wearer. The priority was to create a comfortable men's tuxedo for the younger generation that meets Creative Black Tie standards," says Kateřina about the idea she put into her design. The tuxedo is youthful, elegant and casual. I chose relatively long and narrow lapels with a sharp peak in a traditional satin finish. We narrowed the waist and lowered the button on the jacket. We gave the suit form and expression.
The result of our cooperation
My impressions of the collaboration are only positive. I found a circle of likeable people who are united by work that they enjoy and that makes others happy. I am very grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the Alain Delon team. The opportunity to sign under their brand is an honor for me.The tangible result of our collaboration was a limited edition of 25 tuxedos, which are marked with the author's name and were photographed by a leading Slovak photographer, Lukáš Kimliček. They are also available for sale in our selected stores and on the e-shop. The intangible result is the joy of creativity and ingenuity, which moves us forward every day.
