Stroj času
Madness haunts us. We - the most pragmatic of creatures - hate it when we constantly spend seemingly hours trying to keep our tie tied just right, our handkerchief folded perfectly, and our freshly laundered shirt pressed perfectly. Looking good takes time. Being fashionable is hard work. We can't help but feel a little crazy.

La Pavoni Europiccola

Don't we know any other way? After all, we men are the soldiers, mechanics, and sailors of this world - stark opposites. We don't waste energy on foolish things. We are protectors and hunters. Where our pride fights with our feminine side, our judgment prevails. Fashion requires time, effort, and energy, but that is right, since it is the culture that makes us who we are. Like all forms of culture - music, art, literature - it all yields a small marginal effect in exchange for a lot of work. And yet it becomes all the more indispensable because it is a higher form of existence - one that must be satisfied when we have enough food in our mouths and enough clothing to keep us warm.
A lot of effort is usually worth it.
Alain Delon is proud of fashion because we love the irreplaceable and the beautiful. That's why we also love great coffee. As with dressing, a lot of effort is rewarded with something unique, even if in its essence completely unnecessary. Making a good espresso at home can become a task of the day - from the right thickness of the grind to the right temperature and pressure of the machine - it's exactly the kind of crazy hobby that can turn into snobbery for one. Snobism in the best sense of the word, of course.
True design is not subject to time, it will live forever.
As with many other indulgences, Italy is a place to look up to. Among the countless Italian manufacturers, La Pavoni is the one that wins here. No one else creates an espresso machine with such contempt for time and place as they do. The Europiccola, La Pavoni's traditional coffee machine, could rightly be called a time machine.
Everything from heating it up, to pressing the long manual lever (yes, it's completely manual), to extracting the perfect cup of espresso is a cultural and social event. But this espresso machine is beautiful. It's just like our fashion, it creates real Moments out of ordinary things. Author: Juraj Šalapa – www.salapa.co
